The McInnis Group is committed to ensuring that themcinnisgroup.ca (the "Site") is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

1. Our Commitment

We believe everyone should be able to learn about our services, explore our free resources, and reach out to us, regardless of ability. We are working toward making this Site conform to recognized accessibility standards and to meet our obligations under Ontario's *Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005* (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).

2. Standard We Are Working Toward

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the technical benchmark referenced by AODA's Information and Communications Standard for websites. A technical accessibility review of this Site against that standard has been completed, confirming a genuine and substantial set of conformant features (Section 3), including several items identified for improvement and since fixed and verified. One item genuinely remains before we can state full Level AA conformance across the whole Site (Section 4).

This is a target we are actively working toward and have made real, confirmed progress on — not a conformance level we are claiming to have fully and finally achieved.

3. What We Have Done

A technical accessibility review of this Site was completed by our team on 2026-10-26, followed by a focused round of fixes, confirmed complete the same day. The following genuine accessibility features are in place on the live build:

• Logical heading structure — the Site uses a correct, hierarchical heading order (H1 through H4), helping screen-reader users understand and navigate the page's organization.
• Alt text on all images — every informative image carries descriptive alternative text, and purely decorative images (such as the Advisory section's pillar icons) are correctly marked with an empty `alt=""` attribute so screen readers do not announce meaningless file names.
• Properly labeled form fields — every contact-form field (Name, Email, Phone, Message) uses a correctly associated `` element, so assistive technology correctly announces what each field is for.
• Keyboard-accessible navigation — the Site's primary navigation can be operated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
• Visible focus indicators — every keyboard-focusable element (navigation links, call-to-action buttons, Resource Centre filter buttons, and all contact-form fields) now shows a clearly visible focus state as you tab through the Site, so keyboard users always know where they are.
• Skip-to-main-content link — a "skip to main content" link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the header and navigation and jump straight to the page's main content, and the main content area is correctly marked as a `
  ` landmark.
• Video captions — the welcome video on this Site has closed captions, so its content is accessible to visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who prefer to watch without sound.
• Color contrast — every text/background color combination on the Site has been checked against WCAG 2.1 AA's required contrast ratios and meets or exceeds them.
• Comprehensive reduced-motion support — the Site respects the `prefers-reduced-motion` operating-system/browser setting, through both CSS and JavaScript, so users with that setting enabled see the logo animation and other motion effects display instantly, without animation.
• Responsive design — the Site is confirmed to render and function correctly across phone, tablet, and desktop viewports.
• Declared page language — the Site declares its language (`lang="en"`), supporting correct pronunciation and translation behaviour for assistive technologies and browsers.
• Descriptive page title — the Site's page title clearly and accurately describes its content and purpose.
• Clear link purposes — links on the Site are written so their destination or purpose is clear from their text, rather than relying on vague text like "click here."

4. What We Continue to Work Toward

The features above represent genuine, confirmed progress — but we have not yet run a full, formal, end-to-end WCAG 2.1 AA conformance certification across the entire Site. In particular, screen-reader reading order and keyboard-only operability have not been exhaustively verified at every single interactive point on every section of the Site, beyond the specific items confirmed in Section 3. We continue to work toward full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, and we welcome your feedback if you encounter any accessibility barrier using this Site — please let us know using the contact information in Section 6; your feedback helps us identify issues that may not have been caught internally.

5. Alternate Formats

If you require information from this Site in an alternate format (for example, a large-print or plain-text version of a specific page), please contact us using the information in Section 6, and we will work with you to provide it, at no charge, within 15 business days, or sooner where reasonably possible.

6. Feedback and Accommodation Requests

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this Site. We accept accessibility feedback by email, and will acknowledge receipt of your feedback within 7 business days.
